Inspired by my sparkling watermelon mocktails, these adult beverages have just the right amount of sweetness with a hint of fresh herbs and citrus for balance.
And no professional bartender skills required! You don't even need a cocktail shaker.

Ingredients
- Fresh berries like blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries (choose one or a combination)
- Fresh basil leaves
- Vodka
- Lemon juice
- Ice (cubes or crushed)
- Club soda
- Extra berries for garnish (optional)

Equipment
While not required, there are a few mixology tools that are nice to have when making Berry Vodka Cocktails.
- An inexpensive muddler to crush the fruit and herbs. This brings out the flavors and will turn your beverage a beautiful color. Or use the back of a wooden spoon.
- Shot glasses to measure out the vodka and fresh lemon juice. I like these ones that have the measurements listed on the side. But if you're used making mixed drinks, feel free to eyeball it.
Instructions
- In a tall glass, muddle the berries and basil leaves.
- Pour in the vodka and lemon juice.
- Add ice and top off the glass with club soda.
- Stir, garnish the glass, if desired, and enjoy!
Amy's tip
Prefer an alcohol-free mocktail? Simply leave out the vodka.
Serving suggestions
Berry Vodka Cocktails pair well with a variety of cuisines. Enjoy them with American favorites like veggie chickpea burgers and crispy hand cut fries.
Or serve them with Mexican-inspired dishes like vegan chorizo and potato tacos and chips and simple guacamole.
They're also wonderful with Asian-inspired recipes like air fried crispy orange tofu, coconut jasmine rice, and sesame asparagus.
Recipe FAQs
Muddling is the process of smushing the fruit and herbs to infuse their flavors in a drink.
If you don't have a cocktail muddler, you can use a blunt kitchen tool like the handle of a wooden spoon.
Although there isn't a standard measurement, a shot glass is generally 1.5 fluid ounces, or 44.4 milliliters.

- 3 fresh basil leaves
- 1½ ounces vodka
- ½ ounce fresh lemon juice
- ice, crushed or cubes
- club soda

very refreshing. I did not add the sparkling water because I don't like carbonation. it was wonderful without it. not too sweet, not too strong, just right. it does leave room for another cocktail which makes me happy.
