They're sweetened with pure maple syrup and cinnamon, so no cane sugar needed. There's no butter or oil. Just a splash of lemon for balance and a little cornstarch to thicken.

Ingredients
- Apples: Firm, sweet-tart varieties such as SweeTango (shown in the photo above), Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith work best. A mix is great too.
- Cornstarch: Or substitute tapioca or arrowroot.

How to make baked apple slices
- Add the cored, thinly sliced apples to a large mixing bowl with the pure maple syrup, lemon juice, cornstarch, and ground cinnamon.
- Toss well to coat the apples.
- Transfer to a baking dish.
- Bake until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork, then serve warm.
Serving suggestions
Enjoy these warm baked apple slices on their own or topped with dairy-free vanilla ice cream or vegan whipped cream.

Cinnamon-Maple Baked Apple Slices
Ingredients
- 2 pounds apples*, (about 6 medium apples) cored and thinly sliced, no need to peel them
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch, (or substitute arrowroot or tapioca)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and toss well to combine.2 pounds apples*, ¼ cup pure maple syrup, 1 Tablespoon lemon juice, 1 Tablespoon cornstarch, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. If any liquid remains in the bottom of the bowl, pour it over the top.
- Bake, uncovered, for 25 to 30 minutes until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Serve warm.

I did make this for Brad, he wasn’t sure if there was any sugar. I added some sugar but will make again with just maple syrup. It was very tasty & I didn’t have to make pie crust! Yeah
