Ingredients

Apples: Choose firmer apples for best results. I recommend using a sweet-tart variety such as Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Honeycrisp, or SweeTango, which is shown in the photos.

Instructions

Apple slices, lemon juice, pure maple syrup, corn starch, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl; the mixed up ingredients; the ingredients in a baking dish; and the finished baked apples ready to eat.

Place the cored and sliced apples in a large mixing bowl. Add the pure maple syrup, lemon juice, corn starch, and ground cinnamon.
Toss well to combine the ingredients.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
Bake until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork.

There's no need to peel the apples. But make sure you remove all the seeds when slicing them.

When baking apples it's best to stay away from varieties that are too soft or too sweet. Avoid baking Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, and McIntosh for best results.
