Have you tried Lean Greens?
This superfoods green powder has been sold in the United Kingdom for several years and is now available in the United States (and you can get a 15% discount–see below).
Even though I try to eat a lot of green vegetables every day, sometimes it’s difficult to get enough if I’m busy and not able to prepare my own food at home. I was curious to try this super greens supplement and was generously sent some from the company to review.
Lean Greens contains spinach, wheat grass, barley grass, alfalfa, chlorella, carrot, spirulina, broccoli, blueberries, black currents, digestive enzymes, ginseng, and green tea.
I was particularly interested in how this green powder would taste because in the past when I’ve tried taking spirulina, a blue-green algae, I found it unpleasant. If you’re not familiar with this superfood, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, “Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, and antioxidants that can help protect cells from damage. It contains nutrients, including B complex vitamins, beta-carotene, vitamin E, manganese, zinc, copper, iron, selenium, and gamma linolenic acid (an essential fatty acid).”
Fortunately, Lean Greens is easy to drink, even simply mixed with water!
But my favorite way to consume it is to add it to my morning smoothie.
I added a scoop to my favorite chocolate smoothie, and it didn’t change the taste of it at all.
I have been using Lean Greens for the past week in the mornings, and I’ve noticed that I stay fuller longer, and don’t always need a snack before lunch. And I have piece of mind knowing that even if I fall short on vegetables later in the day, I’ve started the morning off right, even when I start with a delicious chocolate smoothie!
