Banana Berry Fresh Smoothie is my new favorite way to start the day! It's just one of the easy, healthy, and delicious recipes from 40 Days of Green Smoothies by Becky Striepe.
You probably know by now that I'm a big fan of smoothies. Some of my favorite recipes include Peanut Butter Green Smoothie and Pineapple Green Smoothie. But I sometimes get into a rut and make the same smoothies every day.
That's why I was so happy when my friend Becky released her book 40 Days of Green Smoothies: Kickstart your mornings with this 40 day program designed to develop your green smoothie habit!
Besides her Banana Berry Fresh Smoothie, she shares her recipes for delicious smoothies such as Chocolate Covered Cherry, Spicy Mango Tango, and Coconut Blackout. All are vegan and easy to make. She shows there's no excuse not to start the day on a healthy note.
I think my favorite part about the Banana Berry smoothie is the inclusion of fresh parsley. Even though we have some growing in the backyard (and it's very inexpensive to buy), I often forget to use it in recipes. Parsley is a wonderful herb to consume because of it's antioxidant and disease-fighting properties. Plus it gives everything a fresh, bright flavor.

Banana Berry Fresh Smoothie
Ingredients
- ½ cup frozen banana
- ½ cup frozen raspberries
- 1-2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- ½-1 cup water, (add as needed, to get things moving)
- 4 ice cubes
Instructions
- Puree until smooth.

This smoothie sounds wonderful! I love the sound of the raspberries with a touch of parsley. So fresh, and a great way to get in a spring frame of mind!
